Audit log
The audit log records changes admins and devices make: what changed, who changed it, when, and from where. You need the Audit log & history permission to see it, and Undo changes to undo.
Open Organization → Audit Log.
Find a change
- Search by record name, like a person or event.
- Filter by Section, Kind of change, and Made from (the dashboard, a device, and so on).
- Select Clear filters to start over.
Select a change to see each field’s old and new value.
Undo a change
- Select the change, then undo it.
- Check what goes back. If a field has changed again since, choose Keep the current value or put back the earlier one.
- Confirm.
A deleted record comes back exactly as it was, with the same link, so everything that pointed to it works again.
Some changes can’t be undone from here; they’re marked This change can’t be undone from here.
Undo a merge
If two people were merged by mistake, find the merge in the log and undo it. You’ll see which records Go back and which Stay. Records that have changed since, or that were tied to a login that was deleted, stay as they are now. It can take a minute for people with a lot of history.
History on a record
Many pages also have a History button, like events and people, that shows the same changes for just that record.
