Create an organization
Get started walks you through creating an organization: your account, the basics about your organization, your brand, and the features you want. It takes about five minutes. A preview beside the form shows how your app and dashboard will look as you go.
There are two ways in:
- New to Culminate? On the sign-in page, select Create an organization.
- Already have an account? Select your organization’s name at the top of the sidebar, then Create an organization. You skip the account step, and the new organization is added to your account.
The steps
The progress dots at the top show where you are. Select an earlier dot, or Back, to change something. Giving and Check-in only appear if you pick those features.
Your account
Enter your First name, Last name, Email, and a Password of at least 8 characters. Agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, then select Create account.
Already have a Culminate account? Select Sign in, then Sign in and continue. Use the same account you use in the app.
Organization
- Organization name: like Grace Community Church.
- Short name: shown in your app’s header and on push notifications, so keep it short (up to 14 characters).
- What kind of organization is it?: Church, Ministry, Non-profit, School, or Something else.
- About how many people are part of it? and Your role are optional.
Location
Your Address, Phone, and Current website are optional. Check the Time zone. These are used for your website, events, and directions in the app. You can add more campuses later.
Brand
- Logo: a square PNG or SVG, at least 512 × 512. Select Upload.
- Brand color: pick a suggested colour or enter your own.
- Web address: your name.culminate.life address, used by your website and app links. You can add your own domain later.
Features
Pick what you need now. Community is always Included. Video on demand, Live stream, and Point of Sale are marked Paid add-on: they start with a 14-day trial, and you add billing before the trial ends. Everything can be turned on or off later in Features.
Giving
If you picked Giving, enter the first Giving category, like General Fund. Your giving page shows its address. It goes live once you connect your bank through Stripe.
Giving inside the iPhone app needs Apple’s approval, which Apple checks through Benevity. Until then, the app’s Giving tab opens your giving page. You can start approval from Giving after setup.
Check-in
If you picked Check-in, enter the Group name of your first check-in group (like Kids) and choose the Youngest and Oldest grades in it. Later you can split it into rooms and add kiosks and label printers.
Team
Enter the email of each person to invite, choose Admin or Staff, and select Add another for more. Admin can manage everything, including billing. Staff can use every section but can’t change organization settings. They’ll get an email to create an account and join. Select Continue without inviting to skip.
Review
Check the details, select Edit to change any of them, then select Create organization.
When it’s ready
You’ll see Setting things up while your organization is created, then … is ready. You’re the owner. The next steps most organizations take are listed, like adding your people, customising your website, and setting up your app. Select Open the dashboard to start.
